How Corneal Cross-Linking Works

Two primary techniques exist:

  • Epithelium-Off Protocol (Conventional): The epithelium is removed for full riboflavin penetration.

  • Epithelium-On Protocol (Transepithelial): The surface layer remains intact to reduce discomfort and recovery time, with specialized formulations for riboflavin penetration.
